I was so excited to see T's new house and all that she had done to it. She and her husband are about as handy as a pocket on a shirt and every time they move into a new house, they make that house as cute and welcoming as it can be. They haven't been at this house long and they've already converted an unused formal living room into a bedroom (complete with closet), re-tiled and painted the master bathroom, planted grass in the backyard and more. Whew! They don't sit around twiddling their thumbs do they?
We were talking about T's adorable backyard and what a great place her patio is for entertaining when Retro got the bright idea that I should write a blog post about it (that's the best kind of friend a blogger can have isn't it - one who suggests blog ideas?). I just whipped out my phone and started taking pictures. I didn't give poor T a chance to fluff the pillows or anything and look how cute it all is even taken by surprise.
This table was old and ugly before T painted it with exterior paint and recovered the cushions. I am now on the lookout for an old table and chair set at a garage sale. This would be so cute on my back porch!
The mini grocery cart and scale used to be at the fruit stand that T's parents had when she was a girl. Isn't she clever to incorporate them into her patio decor?

And finally I had to show you her porch swing and garden. She has a much bigger garden than we do. She has tomatoes, black-eyed peas, squash, okra, cantaloupes, peppers, and cucumbers (and I'm probably forgetting something). Maybe she'll invite me to dinner...hint, hint! ;)
Hope you enjoyed your trip around a Texas style back porch!

Very creative indeed! Wow! I can only hope to be as creative as this.
I admire people like that. We never seem to get around to fixing up our house.
